Stitch!

This is Stitch!

Stitch has been with me since around 2004, I’m not completely sure as my memory around getting him is very fuzzy. I know he was purchased from the Birmingham Disney Store, and I vaguely remember being very scared of all of the escalators as we went up there to buy him. I’ve never been able to completely find his exact replica on eBay, I’ve found moderately close matches but none seem to have his Authentic Disney Store Exclusive foot mark. Not like I’d want to replace him… the only attempt at that didn’t go well.

He is, as the image suggests, immensely scraggly and very well loved. His texture has become that of a scruffy old towel, all of the cardboard that kept his ears stiff disintegrated years ago, and his neck has no structure left so his head just flops down if you try to put him upright.

As his horrific condition indicates, I took him with me everywhere! Unfortunately combined with my clumsiness this meant he got left behind places a few more times than he should have… once I left him on the bus! I made my mom wait for the bus to come completely back around and he was sitting in the front window of the bus next to the driver! Yay!

In my old wizened age (mid 20s), I no longer take him with me everywhere but his horrible raggedness is a gigantic source of comfort when I need it, and he makes for a weirdly good pillow.

All in all, fantastic creature, 10/10.
